The mission of The Manna Scholarship Fund is to provide hope, networking, and financial aid to those seeking treatment and freedom from eating disorders.
Manna Scholarship Fund (MSF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing funds for residential and inpatient eating disorder treatment for individuals lacking insurance coverage or for those with inadequate insurance coverage. MSF grants scholarships to recipients by providing direct payment to partnering eating disorder treatment facilities .
MSF was founded on Biblical principles. In the Old Testament, Psalm 78:24 says, "he [God] rained down manna for the people to eat, he gave them the grain of heaven." God knew what the people needed, how much they needed, and provided. In the New Testament, Jesus becomes the "manna" - "For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world" (John 6:33). The MSF has been designed to encourage recipients with eating disorders to use food as God intended; that it is provided by God and has been created to meet our physical needs. Similarly, our donors have been provided for financially, and have the ability to provide for those who have not been gifted with abundant financial resources.
Therefore, the Manna Scholarship Fund was designed to help replace the "addictive process" of eating disorders with the true Manna. We encourage individuals to seek Him in each and every aspect of life, especially in how they use eating (and other addictive, ineffective coping skills) to resolve what only He can.

Your Stories are Needed! The MSF Board of Directors has approved the idea of creating a book in order to help those who are going through the struggle of either having an eating disorder or who are in the process of supporting a loved one who is going through an eating disorder. We are interested in multiple story lines! If you would be interested in sharing your story, please look at the book requirements and send us your stories of treatment and recovery to: stories@mannfund.org. We are praying that this book effort will not only help those who are just beginning this struggle, but who are also living alongside and who feel helpless in helping them in recovery.

MSF hosted the "Heart of Manna" weekend in Atlanta on November 6th and 7th, featuring special guest Kirsten Haglund, Miss America 2008 www.kirstenhaglund.org. Kirsten discussed her own battle with an eating disorder as well as providing breathtaking musical performances at both weekend events.
The weekend began on Friday evening with an Art and Wine Tasting event, which was held at the exclusive Atlanta Women's Club. This event was complete with a silent auction, light hors d'ouvres, and wine tasting. On Saturday morning, Guffey's at Tower Place One hosted "Breakfast with Miss America 2008", in which families were entertained by Miss Haglund's personal story with an eating disorder, a brief informational presentation about MSF by Dr. Genie Burnett, Executive Director of MSF, and Miss Haglund's charming musical performance. The breakfast was also sponsored by Cascadian Farm, in addition to Guffey's and Guffey's for Her.
